I’m glad I did, because the more I read the more interested I became. But the writing style was simple and easy, and I could feel potential, so I kept going. I was pretty confused at the beginning, what with wrapping my head around the fictional sport Exy, trying to understand Neil and his situation, and keeping track of a large cast of characters who get introduced in quick succession.

I’ll be posting the full individual reviews over the next couple of weeks, but for now you can follow the handy links to read them all on Goodreads! The Foxhole Court | ★★★★☆ I’m including some snippets of my thoughts for each book. One final selling point? Slow burn M/M romance. But if you think you’re okay with all that then I’d really encourage you to pick them up. These books handle some super dark themes, so if that’s not your thing then I’d advise you to stay away. Then you have the Foxes’ intense rivalry with the Ravens – there’s some history with these players. The main drama follows Neil as he trys to escape from his past and his mafia boss father. This is a team of misfits, and many of them have somewhat shady backgrounds. It raises the stakes with each installation, as you learn new things about our characters and their history along the way.

It’s a lot of characters to get to know, but they’re worth knowing.Īs well as having amazing characters, this series has a really strong storyline. It’s a lot of main characters for a story to have, but each has a well-developed and unique personality, and by the end I loved them all.

I’ll admit I found it a little difficult to remember them all to begin with – the first book is the weakest, and the team has ten players plus their Coach and physician. We follow The Foxes, the lowest ranked team in the college Exy league, made up entirely of misfits and outcasts. Now Exy might be part of it, but the characters are the real focus of these books. The game scenes are fast-paced and dramatic, and I found myself getting really involved in rooting for the Foxes. Our characters play Exy, which is a fictional sport and therefore doesn’t require any existing knowledge. I don’t watch it, play it, or generally have anything to do with it. Now if you’re balking at that idea let me reassure you – I am not sporty. They might not look like much (I know, those covers aren’t the best) but this trilogy is full of well-developed characters, intense plot lines, and… sport?

I found and read this series thanks to the positive reviews I’d seen from others, and have decided to repay that by spreading the word about it to anyone who will listen. I love the idea, I hope you do too! Spoiler-Free Full Series Review All For The Game Trilogy by Nora Sakavic Since this is a series, I’m trying out a new format – posting a review of the full series, so you can get my overall thoughts in a nice condensed fashion (giving you more time to read the books, of course!) and then sharing the full reviews gradually so you can get a more in-depth anaylsis of each book.

I’ve been wanting to post this for a while now, as my reviews of these books are some of my favourites that I’ve written.
